Emergency Medical Coordinator- Middle East

Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

JOB SUMMARY 
The Emergency Medical Coordinator is primarily responsible for the design, implementation and management of the emergency health programs. The Emergency Medical Coordinator will work in collaboration with the senior management team and health teams in the field. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ` 
1. Assessment 
• Conduct multi-sectoral rapid assessments in collaboration with field team and technical advisors. 
2. Representation 
• Attend health coordination meetings as well as other coordination meetings which are relevant to country programs 
• Represent the organization at task force meetings, assessment missions, camp coordination meetings, UN coordination meetings, INGO coordination meetings 
• Serve as a liaison with MOH on matters related to the program to ensure programmatic accountability • Participate in coordination meetings and communicate relevant information to CD and MD and other health staff 
• Ensure maximum visibility of the agency amongst the NGO community 
• Lead the production of reports at site and ensure the timeliness and accuracy of information provided, as well ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. 
• Contribute to the creation of a positive image and overall credibility of the organization, notably through the application of the organizations Code of Conduct, ethics, values and stand-point with regard to internal and external actors Qualifications: 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: 
• Minimum medical degree, preferably with a Master’s in Public Health 
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with emergency response and post-disaster, post conflict work experience; 
• Experience in effectively dealing with international and headquarters staff, as well as donor agencies, government officials, and other NGO’s; the ability to work with a broad spectrum of people 
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently • Ability to write clear and concise reports and to meet required reporting deadlines.
• Extremely flexible, and ability to work in basic living conditions, and under administrative and programmatic pressures and ability to cope with stressful situations 
• Ability to assume non-medical responsibilities from time to time to cover for other team members
• Skills and knowledge in program sustainability and capacity building, and project monitoring and evaluation (both quantitative and qualitative methods).
